Water Nymphs
The Water Nymph has many names, from undines to naiads, or nereids to oceanids. Each name represents where to find them, such as pools of water, fountains or even waterfalls. In Greek mythology, water nymphs are one of the many different types of nymph that can be found across the world. They are depicted as beautiful young women that are maidens of nature and are even considered minor deities. But despite being related to goddesses, these beings are bound to the habitat where they are found.
The water nymphs are believed to have healing properties or other divine magical powers as well as shapeshifting. Unlike their companions, the Nereths, water nymphs are theoretically immortal beings in that they cannot die unless their water source has been diminished. This has led to them existing for countless centuries, witnessing hundreds of civilizations. Their companionship started with the Nereths under an accord since the two coexisted within realms of water. In return for magic from the water nymphs, the Nereths give gifts and worship the nymphs so the nymphs may treasure their home from within their realm. Thus this accord started an everlasting research experiment within the Nereth civilization in Azuris.
