The Bottle Nymphs
With the Three Sisters complete, the process of transforming the rest of the water nymphs located in Azuris had begun. The Nereths had officially designed two types of vials: perfume and elixir. To further ensure the connection between the water nymph and the bottle, each scent or essence can only be used once. However, gemstones can be used more than once.
They also discovered how to use magic to give the water nymphs more traits. Usually a water nymph is a humanoid female with human-like ears, but ear length can be increased to make a water nymph more elven-like. Special traits such as fae or aquatic can only be obtained via magic vials created by the Nereths. These vials can be added to the Bottle Nymph’s bottle for them to successfully transform, with the bottle now exhibiting the new traits.

Bottle Nymph's Connection
Bottle Nymphs can only connect to their bottle via the gemstone/s attached to their chests (as well as the bottle containing a sample of their home's water). This works in a rather mysterious and spiritualistic way as the gemstone/s is creating a link to the soul. Should the gemstone/s be placed anywhere other than the chest, the link will not work.

What happens if a Bottle Nymph's bottle is broken or destroyed?
The Bottle Nymph will simply lose her connection and consequently, her freedom. Onas of course can repair broken bottles free of charge or create new ones but strongly advises to take good care of the bottles as a water nymph's water source could diminish over time.

What happens if a Bottle Nymph's gemstone/s is destroyed?
It is highly recommended to ensure this does not happen. No immense harm would come to a Bottle Nymph if something happens to her gemstone/s, but the experience is rather painful and highly unpleasant as it is connected to the soul.

What happens if the gemstone/s is 'tainted'?
If a Bottle Nymph has been affected by Ilyanna's magic, it is of upmost importance to seek Shanara and Onas' help immediately. An affected gemstone will gradually get worse over time depending on how much it has been poisoned. If not treated, the Bottle Nymph will ultimately suffer the same fate as Ilyanna.

Bottle Nymph Biology
Bottle Nymphs are young adult women with appearances ranging from the age of 18 to the late 30s. They cannot age and do not have childhoods since they were 'made' by their source of water with the guidance of the gods and goddesses. This also means that they cannot reproduce and instead create their families with their close loved ones. It is very common for Bottle Nymphs to acknowledge each other as 'sisters' and look up to the Bottle Nymph pillars as 'mothers'.

Can a Bottle Nymph become injured or die?
A Bottle Nymph can become injured but cannot die. Bottle Nymphs are immortal beings as long as they ensure the safety of their bottles and do not lose their bit of water in case their water source has diminished. If their bottle does break, but their water source is plentiful, there is no need to worry. ​If their water source is gone, the Bottle Nymph will perish.

Can a Bottle Nymph not be female or female presenting?
​A Bottle Nymph does not possess the magic to change their biology, but that doesn't mean that they can't change their gender or representation. A Bottle Nymph can present themselves however they'd like, but they would need help from the Nereths to become biologically male. Their inability to reproduce does not change.

Bottle Nymph Magic
Magic is an inherent skill that Bottle Nymphs possess, although some choose to not indulge in it. Their magic is entirely divine and spiritualistic in design, with special qualities ranging from healing to protection or even attraction. As water nymphs, they are also able to manipulate water to their liking and enjoy ritualistic water dances.

Shanara, Valindra and Ilyanna were all known to be the most knowledgeable water nymphs on magic in Azuris and are considered to be the most powerful.

Can Bottle Nymphs learn other types of magic?
Yes, Bottle Nymphs can learn other types of magic if they choose. However, their expertise will always be in healing.

Can Bottle Nymphs harm others with their magic?
Their magic is focused around healing, protecting, repelling, etc. They are not known to cast harmful magic as they do not wish to hurt others.
